“Zoos: Responding to the Conservation Crisis”. Where are we currently with the extinction crisis and what is a modern accredited zoo like Toronto Zoo doings compared to the role of the traditional zoo and what is being done to save these species.

Guest Speaker - Dr. Andrew Lentini, Toronto Zoo

Dr. Lentini oversees Wildlife Care and Welfare, Veterinary Science, Nutrition Science, Reproductive Sciences, and Conservation and Species Recovery at Toronto Zoo. He has worked on several local, national and international species recovery projects and served on the Board of Directors of Canada’s Accredited Zoos and Aquariums and chaired their Ethics and Compliance Committee. Most recently he was appointed a member of the Species at Risk Program Advisory Committee by the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario where he plays an instrumental role in the protection and recovery of Ontario’s species at risk.
