Lucee and Micah will be sharing stories, poems and songs from their personal lives and the lives of those they've crossed paths with. It will be a night of vulnerability, connection and creative expression. There will be plenty to think about and an opportunity to ask questions. They hope to challenge you toward more radical love, leaving you curious, courageous, and inspired.
Micah Bournes is a poet and musician from Long Beach, California. His work touches on themes of culture, justice and faith. He has travelled the world performing and teaching workshops to help others nurture their own creativity. Micah believes creative expression is one of the strongest tools we have in the struggle for freedom and justice for oppressed people. He is convinced that love is overwhelmingly more powerful than hate, beauty is more abundant than ugliness, and we should all fight evil with poetry.
My name is Lucee, I am a singer-songwriter from LA. I started singing and writing three years ago after running from music my entire life. My inspiration started with a group of young girls who, I could see, had received seeds of self-doubt and insecurity from the world. Seeing this broke my heart and made me realize those same seeds were also planted in me at a young age and I allowed them to grow into fear. I decided, if there was anything I could do to plant seeds of hope and life instead, I would. Music was my answer.
